Wild Country Rockcentrics (Set 5-8)
It's hard to imagine that this simple re-working of the humble Hex could have caught on so well but Wild Country Rockcentrics are now a mainstay on most climbing racks.
A best seller from day one, Wild Country Rockcentric's success can be attributed to their simple, yet highly functional design: the curved sides seat much more effectively than flat sided nuts, they are incredibly easy to place and remove, and they are lightweight compared to the original Hex.
Another big plus point for the Wild Country Rockcentric is it's versatility. One nut can provide four placement modes; and as two of these are camming style placements, they make an effective starter tool for those who can't afford or aren't confident using cams. As the Wild Country Rockcentric fits a wide range of placements from one unit, they are highly useful and great value for money.
Wild Country Rockcentrics are supplied on pre-sewn 12mm Dyneema so you can be assured of their 14kN strength rating compared to threading up old Hexes with rope of indeterminable strength! This pre-sewn Dyneema also means flexibility; it goes over edges better and generally doesn't need lengthening. This allows a single krab to be used rather than a quickdraw, reducing the overall weight of your rack.
We reckon there isn't really a rack which Rockcentrics don't suit, from the eager beginner, to the gnarliest winter freak, to the trad climber wanting to push the boat out with less weight on the their rack. Easy to select, easy to place, and their place amongst the best selling kit of all time is testament to their enduring usefulness.
